Project Development

Image
Overview Welcome back ! This is unfortunately the last blog for CP5070 Chemical Product Design & Development. Overall, this has been an interesting and enjoyable journey as I am able to pick up new skills such as Arduino Programming, using the Laser Cutter and also 3D Printing. Through these design process, I get to broaden my eyesight and come across different software such as Fusion 360 where I get to unleash my creativity and create anything and everything that I want. With that being said, this week's blog focus would be on our project development. Chemical Device My group's chemical device is none other than the Self-Sterilizing Door Handle. For our device, it uses UV Light as the source of disinfectant. Just for some background  there are about approximately about 5.85 Million Covid-19 deaths across the world as of 17/2/22 and this number is inevitably, going to continue to rise. We believe that having a self-sanitizing door handle can reduce the risk of people get...

Hypothesis Testing

Overview Welcome back to my blog ! This week's focus is on Hypothesis Testing on the catapult experiment that we did in class. Here are the DOE team members: 1. Nander (Iron Man) 2. Tzer (Thor) 3. Ashwati (Captain America) 4. Nikkisha (Black Widow) 5. Daryl (Hulk) Data collected for FULL factorial design using CATAPULT A (fill this according to your DOE practical result) Data collected for FRACTIONAL factorial design using CATAPULT B (fill this according to your DOE practical result):  Iron Man will use Run #2 from FRACTIONAL factorial and Run#2 from FULL factorial. Thor will use Run #4 from FRACTIONAL factorial and Run#4 from FULL factorial. Captain America will use Run #5 from FRACTIONAL factorial and Run#5 from FULL factorial. Black Widow will use Run #8 from FRACTIONAL factorial and Run#8 from FULL factorial. Hulk will use Run #4 from FRACTIONAL factorial and Run#4 from FULL factorial. Hawkeye will use Run #8 from FRACTIONAL factorial and Run#8 from FULL factorial. ...

DOE

Image
Overview  Hello, welcome back to my blog ! For this week's blog entry, it is about Design Of Experiments (DOE). So what is DOE? DOE is essentially a statistics based approach to designing experiments. Documentation of case study  For Case Study 1, I was appointed as the CEO by my group and I was tasked to complete this case study together with my friend, Nikkisha who is the CFO. Part 1:   Determining effect on single factors and their ranking Recreating the table shown in the PDF, into an Excel file. It looks something like this Where, A = Diameter of bowl   B = Microwaving time C = Power However, for ease of convenience. I have replaced the + and - signs to their respective high and low values. Next, I used this template and filled in the Bullets into the "Average" Column. It is shown as follows This is the data that I got for filling the values in the above table With the data that I arrived at, I tabulated the graph and it looks something like this The ranking mos...

3D Printing

Overview During our end of term holiday, we were tasked to create an object which cannot be made subtractively. This means that    a model that cannot be easily made by trimming unnecessary parts from an original object. Objects that cannot be easily made subtractively are whistle, ball in a box and hinges etc. We then had to return to campus to 3D print out the designs. Hence, the 3D object that I have made is a simple hinge. Below is my embed link of the hinge that I created which is able to turn 180 Degrees. Steps Now, here is a step by step guide to create this design :)  Step 1: Create a Rectangle with 0.25cm Breath and 5cm Length Step 2: Create a 2 point circle with diameter of 1 cm and center diameter circle with 0.4 cm  Step 3: Extrude the base as follows Step 4: Turn on visibility of sketch and extrude the circle as follow Step 5 : Select "Create" then "Rectangular Pattern" and change right window "Faces" to "Features".  Step 6: It...
